The department encompasses the branches of engineering most closely to the design and maintenance of infrastructure, buildings and cities, and closely to the harmonization with the natural environment. The object of this department is to educate specialists who know about a wide variety of methods and technologies of engineering, and who have a comprehensive knowledge and a wider perspective for sustainable development. The department consists of three Chairs: Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environmental Design. In the Chair if Civil Engineering, students study the design methods and maintenance techniques of roads, ports, airports, bridges and dams, etc. In the Chair of Architecture, students study the design methods and maintenance techniques of houses, office buildings, schools, libraries, theaters, hospitals, cities etc. In the Chair of Environmental Design, students study the harmonizing methods and controlling techniques of rivers, the sea, water supply, sewage and parks with nature and environment.
