Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering deals with industrial production of the basic materials for different types of industries, based on Chemistry across the wide fields of new materials, biotechnology, resources and the environment etc. Our education and research focuse on the processes from development to production stages of the industrial chemicals demanded by society from the perspectives of applied chemistry and chemical engineering. The students take the subjects for specialization in the second term of the second year. They study either the development of materials by chemical technologies in the applied chemistry course or the optimization of material production in the chemical engineering course. Our research covers the syntheses of inorganic, organic, polymeric and biological materials to be useful, the evaluations of their physical and chemical properties, the analyses of them and the reactions which produce them, the development of processes to produce materials and energies, the design and operation of machines and instruments and control of systems in different processes, the development of techniques to prevent industrial production from polluting the environment, etc.
